Provision of FEM-E, the English version of the Family Environment Map

    The FEM records the structure of the target family (family structure and kin structure); mutual interaction within the family internal environment; transactions between the target family and the family external environment; and the presence and condition of the interface membrane (particularly the family's interface membrane). It provides tools for graphically recording these basic data concerning the family system unit, through utilization of figures, lines and code.
    When utilized for research by researchers, educators, practitioners, students and so on for the objectives of research and practice, the FEM is provided free of charge and can be utilized freely. The newest version of the FEM-E, in pamphlet form, is Version 2.3E, issued on June 12, 2014.

Assessment guide for the English version of the Family Environment Map (FEM-E)

    Comprehensive and practical guidelines incorporating the FEM, titled "Assessment guide for the English version of the Family Environment Map (FEM-E)" have been issued in book form. To enable mastery of the FEM, tables and illustrations are utilized, and the book incorporates such basic information as Family's Interface Membrane Theory, "unreciprocated family members" issues and others, with easy-to-follow explanations such as mapping method of the FEM, items for entry into the FEM, examples of the FEM mapping, and so on. Use of this work will enable better understanding and knowledge of the FEM.
